Job Description

Join the Piedmont Triad Regional Council (PTRC) as an Accounting Specialist. In this part-time role, you will handle technical accounting functions for the financial operations of the Regional Council or its subdivisions. Responsibilities include account reconciliation, report preparation, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and assistance with payroll functions. Emphasis is placed on compliance with accounting procedures and performing routine accounting tasks accurately and reliably. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of general accounting principles, budgeting processes, and internal controls, along with excellent communication skills.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited two-year institution with a major in accounting or high school/equivalent with accounting courses.
  • 1 year of experience in an automated fiscal or accounting environment (for two-year institution graduates) or 3 years of experience (for high school graduates).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and modern office practices.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality, problem-solve with little supervision, and establish relationships across all levels of the organization.
  • Must pass pre-employment screenings and hold a valid NC driver's license.
