Job Description
We are looking for a dedicated Director of Life Claims and Investigations to join our team at USAA, a company committed to supporting the financial security of U.S. military members and their families. In this role, you will oversee Life, Annuity & Health claims and fraud investigation programs, manage the Life Special Investigation Unit, and develop operational strategies to ensure seamless claims processing and member satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Provide guidance to staff on procedures and training materials.
- Direct claim investigation team and ensure business performance.
- Develop and implement Claims Security plans in collaboration with senior management.
- Identify emerging fraud trends and develop new investigation programs.
- Develop internal and external relationships with business partners and law enforcement agencies.
- Oversee employee hiring, development, and performance evaluation.
- Ensure effective risk management in accordance with policies and procedures.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- 8 years of relevant business experience, including 3 years in Claims and/or Insurance Fraud.
- 3 years of direct team lead or management experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- US military experience.
- 5+ years of Life Insurance and/or annuity claims experience.
- 3+ years of Life Insurance and/or annuity claims management.
- Experience with claims processing, procedures, and settlement practices.
- Proven track record of delivering operational results.
