Job Title: Merchandise Handler - Overtime Available
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $17 per hour starting
Primary Objective & Scope of Position:
This position involves merchandise movement including storing, moving, and distributing products. The role also entails leading by example and providing training to other employees.
Essential Functions and Accountabilities:
- Move and condense merchandise efficiently within designated areas.
- Transfer merchandise to and from the show floor, ensuring appropriate display or packaging.
- Utilize the point of sale (POS) system for inventory management.
- Guarantee accuracy in customer orders and system records.
- Handle incoming merchandise by unloading, inspecting, tagging, and receiving it. Outgoing merchandise should be unpacked, inspected, assembled, and wrapped securely.
Training:
Lead by example and provide training to other employees.
Customer Service:
Communicate professionally with customers, colleagues, and vendors. Maintain inventory accuracy by resolving discrepancies and updating management.
Other Responsibilities:
Follow lean practices and carry out tasks as directed by the supervisor. Assist in grounds and building maintenance and lighting.
Safety:
Adhere to safety policies, practice safe behaviors, and follow risk reduction procedures. Prevent equipment or merchandise damage through proper handling and maintenance. Maintain a safe and organized facility.
Requirements:
High school diploma or GED, or currently pursuing one. Basic math skills are essential. Knowledge of tools, hardware components, and product assembly. A valid driver's license, basic computer knowledge, and familiarity with POS systems are desired.
