Job Description

Join our team at Amazon Development Center U.S., Inc. as a Senior Software Development Engineer specializing in AWS Cryptography at the Protocols, Algorithms, and Libraries (PAL) team. Our focus is on building secure, open source encryption tools and libraries to protect sensitive data in and out of the cloud. This role offers the opportunity to design and implement cryptographic solutions at scale, ensuring that our customers have access to the most sophisticated security features.

Responsibilities

• Own the full software development lifecycle for AWS Cryptography, from defining and designing new features to testing and implementation.
• Manage globally distributed servers and customers, ensuring seamless operation of cryptographic tools.
• Develop secure and reliable foundational libraries in C and Rust for critical AWS services.

Basic Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software development experience.
• Proficiency in at least one software programming language.
• Experience in leading design and architecture of new systems.
• Previous role as a mentor, tech lead, or engineering team leader.

Preferred Qualifications

• Full software development lifecycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, testing, and operations.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.
