Job Description

We are looking for an Engineer II - Sensor Test and Evaluation to join our team at EarthScope Consortium in Socorro, New Mexico. As an Engineer II, you will manage and implement field projects to provide technical support for geophysical instruments and networks, working on projects of varied complexity across different locations.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and implement field projects for geophysical instruments and networks.
  • Identify and solve technical issues related to sensor hardware, firmware, and data communications.
  • Assist in the design and testing of new systems.
  • Evaluate instrument design and propose new technologies.
  • Document activities and metadata, prepare technical reports.
  • Collaborate with team members and other departments on projects.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in engineering, geosciences, or related field.
  • 3 years of experience with geophysical sensors or networks (Bachelor's) or 1 year (Master's).
  • Familiarity with data quality analysis software.
  • Proficiency in using hand and power tools.

Additional Requirements

This position may require travel, safety training, and physical demands related to field operations. A valid driver’s license and passport may be required for project deployments.
