Associated Wholesale Grocers, Inc. is seeking a Lead Grocery Store Designer to join our team in the Greater Chicago Area. In this role, you will be responsible for design and construction coordination for all phases of grocery store development in the Kansas City Division. Working closely with member retailers, architects, engineers, and equipment vendors, you will ensure the successful planning and execution of new and existing retail facilities.

Responsibilities

• Design fixture layouts and recommend building and equipment components.
• Supervise building construction and review construction documents.
• Coordinate equipment installation and resolve construction issues.
• Provide training and direction to Store Engineers and manage departmental operations.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of the retail grocery industry and current CAD software.
• Experience in construction management and making presentations.
• Strong attention to detail, time management, and relationship building skills.
• High school diploma required; college degree or relevant experience preferred.
• 2-5 years of grocery store design/engineering or construction experience.
