Railcar Repair Technician

Job Description

First Response Rail Service, Inc., a leader in rail asset management and logistics, is seeking a dedicated Railcar Repair Technician to join our team in Boyertown, Pennsylvania. As a Railcar Technician, you will be responsible for inspecting railcars, performing necessary repairs, welding, fabrication, and part change outs in the field. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, mechanically inclined, and willing to continually learn and grow in freight car repair.

Job Overview

• Inspect railcars daily.
• Perform necessary repairs and program work.
• Conduct heavy repairs, including welding and fabrication.
• Change railcar parts in the field on a work track.

Requirements

• Willingness to travel when required.
• Mechanical skills including the use of oxygen/acetylene torch, MIG, and stick welding.
• Good spatial awareness and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to lift heavy objects and walk significant distances.
• Strong time management and reliability.

Salary is negotiable based on skills and experience. Per diem is provided for travel, and work schedule is primarily Monday to Friday with occasional weekend and holiday work.
