Job Description
The Florida Department of Financial Services, Office of the General Counsel, is currently seeking Senior Attorneys and Attorneys to join their team in Tallahassee. As a part of the Contracts & Rulemaking, Prosecution & Enforcement, or Workers' Compensation sections, you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of legal matters impacting the state of Florida. Senior Attorneys handle a sophisticated portfolio with private-sector relevance, while Attorney positions offer training and experience for those newer to the legal profession. Competitive salaries starting at $65,000 for Attorneys and $75,000 for Senior Attorneys, including state health insurance and retirement contributions.
Responsibilities
- Handle transactional matters, contract drafting, and negotiations.
- Provide legal counsel on competitive solicitations and rule promulgation.
- Represent DFS in licensee discipline, licensure denial, and rule development.
- Litigate Administrative and Appellate cases related to insurance services.
- Defend workers' compensation coverage and rule challenges.
